Where do I start?
I really shouldn’t have left it so long.. so much has happened. I’ll just give you a brief update and won’t leave it so long next time to share an update
Here goes…
In December my husband and I moved back to Queensland from the other side of the country in Western Australia.
We bought a house Brisbane off the internet sight unseen. Good thing is it’s actually even better than we thought it would be. We’re going to be renovating as it’s 35yrs old.

We have a wonderful pool that I enjoyed during our summer months
Plus for winter we have an open brick fireplace that I’m loving as it’s winter now and I haven’t yet acclimatised from living in the extreme heat where we were in Port Hedland, Western Australia
In January I decided to continue on and further my pattern making and designs studies and am now doing a full-time Diploma course in Fashion Design
So far I’ve completed six months of my course and have another 12 months to go. I’m not sure yet if I will continue on and obtain a degree. I’ll re-evaluate when I finish this program. One thing is for sure is I am loving this course and all my teachers.
And… I thought my brand needed a new look for the new direction I’m taking with my sewing patterns…. so I now have a new logo
I have this little one that I feel is simple and elegant. You’ll notice I’ve used it as my Favicon (the symbol you see in the tab at the top of my page)
And I also have this version of it
Oh and I’ll soon be releasing my very first women’s skirt sewing pattern that I’ve called ‘A Skirt for All Seasons.
I’ve graded the pattern from a size 8 to a size 36. It’s currently with my pattern testers and the feedback has been amazing. I’ll share a blog post when I publish the pattern.
Here’s a little sneaky peak… the cover page might change a little but I’m planning on keeping my women’s pattern cover clear and simple so as you can see the actual design lines and the style.

And I promise I won’t leave it sooooo long between blog posts
If you’ve managed to read down this far in my blog post I wanted to say thanks for dropping by and I hope to see you around here again soon.

Hi Chris! I love your blog, I’ve only just discovered you, but I love the fact that you are in the middle of a “reinvention” of sorts of your career! It’s so important in the journey of life to be open to change, make new goals and move toward them.
I have been looking for a 6 gored skirt pattern. I live in the United States, will your patterns be available to us? Your doll patterns are so well loved, and get such good reviews!
Awe thank you Amie and it’s wonderful to meet you. I agree with you.. it’s definitely important to be open to change and set new goals for ourselves. Our hearts want what our hearts want and I truly believe in following our dreams.
My patterns are downloadable PDF patterns and will be available for you to download and print them and join the pages together. There’s no need to trim the pages to join them as I’ve set them up to be trim-less.
My skirt pattern is currently with my pattern testers and the feedback has been wonderful… they all love it and have found it easy to sew and all have said it’s a great pattern. If all goes to plan I’ll be publishing the pattern later next week for you to try 😀
Thank you for dropping by and look forward to seeing you again soon xx
Just wanted to say thank you for telling us about your website. Also. want to thank you for continuing your wonderful doll patterns and adding women’s fashion patterns. to your line. I am looking forward to making the skirt for all seasons. I’m so glad that you are continuing you education in design. It’s certainly an area in which you are very talented.
You’re welcome Susan, I’m happy to share and thank you for your wonderful support as I truly appreciate it 😀 xx
